At the Dream India Foundation, We belive that quality primary education is the foundation to a good life for the under-priveleged student. The quality of education seen at municipal schools, in general, has been poor, and conditions prevalent not conducive to Learning. In many cases we have seen just one teacher for all the subjects, two classes going on in the same room, not more than three rooms to the school, and no drinking water/ Toilet facilities. All teaching besides, is in the vernacular language and hence children are unable to cope with English which is the medium of instruction used in higher classes. More often than not children educated thus lack the self-confidence to go on to higher education and hence end up as "drop-outs", even before secondary school.

We hope to tackle this problem through our work at Dream India Foundation, and may we be guided by the words of Norman. B.Rice, I quote, "Dare to reach out your hand into the darkness, to pull another hand into the light."

I seek your support, guidance, suggestions and contributions towards meeting this challenging objective of trying to improve the quality of education in our country.

Sincerely,
B. Suresh
